Health Education Enhancement

Health Education Enhancement

Children and adolescents need to have an outlet to help them improve themselves. It isn’t something we necessarily think about as they grow into young adults, but it is an important factor that needs to be taken into consideration.

At Cameron Pediatric Counseling, we realize the importance and the necessity for our community to offer these programs. Health Education Enhancement does not require a diagnosis to participate. We base the curriculum on the goals of each individual participant.

Through this curriculum-based individual therapy, children and teens can learn lifelong skills of:

  • Gifted/talented enhancement
  • Bullying; it’s impact and how to react to it
  • Improving social skills
  • Stress management and resiliency
  • Practical relaxation techniques
  • Interpersonal skills
  • Setting realistic expectations for themselves and others
  • Assertiveness training
  • Effective communication skills
  • Developing inner strength
  • Critical thinking skills
  • Develop skills to set goals and plans to achieve them
  • Transition in to adulthood

Having strong mental health isn’t just the absence of mental health problems. Being mentally and emotionally healthy is much more than being free of depression, anxiety, or other psychological concerns. Strong mental health refers to the presence of positive characteristics.

People who are mentally healthy have:

  • Self-confidence and higher self-esteem
  • A sense of satisfaction or being content
  • An enthusiasm for living and the ability to laugh and have fun
  • The ability to deal with stress and bounce back from adversity
  • A sense of meaning and purpose, in all aspects of life
  • The ability to learn new skills and adapt to change
  • A balance between school, work and play
  • The ability to build and sustain fulfilling relationships

This is a beneficial enhancement for children, adolescents, and young adults across all academic settings (home school, public/private school, and beyond). At Cameron Pediatric, we create programs based on individuals and move along at the pace of your adolescent. Our focus is to help your child on their path to mental wellness, growth, and success.
